Thoughtful Design for Ideas that Matter
I’m Dr. Linda O’Heron — designer, educator, and long-time communicator who helps people turn ideas into clear, engaging visual experiences.
My background spans marketing, education, and instructional design, which means I don’t just make things look good — I help them make sense. Whether it’s a presentation, lead magnet, or ebook, my goal is always the same:
to shape your content so it’s easier to understand, easier to share, and easier for your audience to engage with.
Where I’m coming from
Before Sugarplum Designs, I spent years working in marketing communications, higher education, and curriculum development. I’ve written, taught, presented, edited, and refined ideas for classrooms, organizations, and professional audiences — often helping people clarify what they meant to say when the message felt tangled or overwhelming.
That experience taught me something important:
Most people don’t need “more content.”
They need clarity, structure, and a design that supports their message.
That’s the lens I bring to every project.
How Sugarplum Designs fits in
Sugarplum Designs is a design-focused division of Sweetheart’s Dream, my larger creative studio. While Sweetheart’s Dream leans into art, color, and creative exploration, Sugarplum Designs is where that creativity meets strategy, structure, and purpose.
Here, the work is quieter, cleaner, and more focused — but it’s still guided by the same belief:
design should feel thoughtful, approachable, and human.
How I work
I’m collaborative, detail-oriented, and intentionally not fast-and-furious.
You don’t need a polished plan to work with me. Rough notes, half-finished drafts, and “I know what I want but can’t explain it” are all welcome starting points. We shape the project together, with clarity and care.
This is a good fit if:
-
You care about clarity and clean design
-
You want your ideas to land, not just look nice
-
You value collaboration over quick fixes
This is probably not a fit if:
-
You’re looking for a one-click template swap
-
You need something rushed out overnight
-
You want design without thinking about the message
A little more about me
Alongside my design work, I’m also an artist and creative educator. That side of my work lives primarily under Sweetheart’s Dream, but it informs everything I do — from how I think about flow and hierarchy to how I help ideas move visually from start to finish.
If you’re curious about the art side, you’ll find it there.
If you’re here, you’re in the right place to start shaping your idea.
Ready to take the next step?
If you have an idea you’d like help shaping, I’d love to hear about it.
